I went ahead and created a Google Group since the SF forums are so lame. I am also not a fan of how this site divides the discussion into 10 different forums. The Google Group should be able to accommodate everything SF and this site provide and offer higher visibility as well.

If you feel so inclined, please come join the discussion.

Hi Ben,

sure both SF and this confusion here are not the peak of a community collaboration platform we can think of. I agree that the division into sub forums I made here is not that lucky since it doesn't seem to be particular clear and for that matter rather confusing. I have no experience with google groups yet it should be not a big deal to be an improvement.

Have you thought of contacting Jeff, the main person behind flare, to maybe make this an official move from SF to google groups (or even also google code)?

I probably will try to contact Jeff soon. The main reason I haven't already is because he doesn't seem very involved in the project any more and I've not come across contact info. I will soon get over my laziness and reach out to him.

If you feel like maybe you could also request him to give us flare users an update about the project status as such. It seems a bit dead these days right? I addressed this question in a reply to the "new flare release" thread in SF recently yet no response. I might contact him myself yet since you want to contact him anyway maybe better to bundle these questions from the community.

Yea, I sent an email yesterday asking about project status, his involvement, the possibility of moving to Google Code and notifying him of the Google Group. Will let you know if I hear anything back.

Great, thanks for your efforts for the flare community. I am involved in a non flare based project these days yet definitely would love to see flare to continue. It's just too good to die so young ...
